Mission Statement
Lord of Life Lutheran Preschool is a ministry of Lord of Life Lutheran Church. The church established the preschool in 2001, recognizing the need for excellence in early childhood education. The school is licensed by the state of Tennessee Department of Human Services and is a Three-Star Rated School (out of three stars). We believe that the spiritual development of a young child is essential to the total growth process. We provide a nurturing environment where children develop an awareness of God’s love through example and practice. We believe this Christian environment is essential for children to grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually.
Philosophy
We believe in teaching to the whole child. We use a play-based approach to learning. We begin introducing Kindergarten readiness skills to even our youngest learners. We believe that Kindergarten readiness is more than just academic skills. We use the interests of our students to incorporate new skills and encourage a love for learning. Each class teaches developmentally appropriate skills in Social-Emotional, Gross and Fine Motor, Literacy, Math, and Science. We also have weekly Music, Library, Chapel, and PE classes for each grade.
We are a preschool and run on an 10 month Academic Calendar. We offer multiple options to meet most families’ needs. While our curriculum works best 5 days a week; we do offer Monday/Wednesday/Friday and Tuesday/Thursday options for Toddlers and 2K.
Our school day is 8:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
We also have Extended Care for an additional monthly cost. Before Care is open 7:30 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. and After Care is open 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
